Dale Carnegie Training for Vidyalankar Students

The Dale Carnegie Training Program is imparted to all students in all semesters in well-defined modules. ‘Gen Next’ (Generation Next) in the First Year and ‘Step Up to Professional Excellence’ in the Third Year are examples of two such modules which emphasize on basic communication etiquette and pre-recruitment training. EMC Academic Alliance

EMC Corporation is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Massachusetts, United States. It is the world’s largest provider of data storage systems by market share. EMC collaborates with colleges and universities worldwide to help prepare students for successful careers in a transforming IT industry. The EMC Academic Alliance program offers unique ‘open’ curriculum-based education on technology topics such as cloud computing, big data analytics, information storage and management, and backup recovery systems and architecture. All courseware and faculty training are offered at no cost to qualifying higher education institutions. The courses focus on technology, concepts and principles applicable to any vendor environment, enabling students to develop highly marketable knowledge and skills required in today’s evolving IT industry. Through the Academic Alliance program, EMC provides college and university faculties with curriculum options designed to fit a variety of IT-related programs to enable students to develop highly marketable knowledge and skills to address the IT industry’s top concerns. Vidyalankar Institute of Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate EMC Academic Alliance certification courses for its students.


VIT hosts IEEE’s Global Residency Program

The IEEE Bombay Section in association with Vidyalankar Institute of Technology had organized four days of academic exchanges and corporate visits under the Global Residency Program India 2013. IEEE had invited 10 students from the University of California Riverside, USA. The student members of this delegation were mainly pursuing their undergraduate degree in Business Administration and were either in their third or final years. The event was hosted by the Management Studies and Engineering Departments of VIT. The program mainly aimed at understanding Indian Culture, Indian Market and Economy from the point of view of considering India for various business opportunities. The students were from diverse backgrounds and there was strategic exposure, ranging from a visit to the American Library and the National Stock exchange to interactions with TCS and talks by the VIT Principal and well-known academicians like Prof. Mohini Dias and Dr. Atindra Sen. This was interspersed and enlivened with scenic sightseeing and culminated in a lively convocation ceremony. UCR faculty members and students shared their experiences of being in India and named it as ‘Reflections on India’. They were delighted with the hospitality displayed by VIT and being in the company of the Management Studies Department students who accompanied them in all the tours. A student said, “It was a wonderful experience, from a learning perspective as well as fun. We would love to come again”.


Faculty Training Program conducted by University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Vidyalankar promoted teaching excellence of UIUC training for the teaching faculty. Dr. Cheelan Bo-Linn, Center for Teaching Excellence, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Dilip Chhajed, Department of Business Administration, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, recently conducted workshops for the faculty of Vidyalankar Group of Educational Institutes to promote effective pedagogy. The workshop aimed to foster an institutional environment that values teaching excellence and helps train faculty to prepare students for the global twenty first century. In highly interactive sessions, the participants were trained to develop innovative modules and assignments to help maximize student engagement, encourage creative thinking and active learning. The training also included modules such as participants creating their Teaching Philosophy statements and portfolios, effective classroom assessment techniques, fair and accurate grading and maximizing the benefits of student teams.


Seminar on "German-Indian Management Studies" MBA program

The Career Counselling Committee, VIT had organized a Seminar on 'Higher Education Opportunities in German Indian Management Studies' in April 2015 for our BE students. It was conducted by Dr. V. Srividya, Professor of Finance and Admissions Coordinator from the PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore. The second speaker was Dr. D. Sudha Rani, Professor and Head of Marketing at the PSG Institute.

The "German-Indian Management Studies" MBA program is offered at the coveted HOF University, Germany. It is exclusively dedicated to Indian engineers who are interested in fostering Indo-German trade relations. The GIMS program can be the key to a bridge-building management career in Germany, India or throughout the world. The "German-Indian Management Studies" MBA program has been awarded the Global Award of Educational Excellence.
