The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE is an international non-profit, professional organization for the advancement of technology related to electricity. It has the most members of any technical professional organization in the world, with more than four lac members in around 150 countries. The IEEE consists of 38 societies, organized around specialized technical fields, with more than 300 local organizations that hold regular meetings.


IEEE offers educational opportunities such as IEEE Expert Now Online Education Courses, the Education Partners Program, Standards in Education and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).


The IEEE provides learning opportunities within the engineering sciences, research, and technology. The goal of the IEEE education programs is to ensure the growth of skill and knowledge in the electricity-related technical professions and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE members, the engineering and scientific communities, and the general public.

IEEE Expert Now is a collection of online educational courses designed for self-paced learning. Education Partners, exclusive for IEEE members, offers on-line degree programs, certifications and courses at a 10% discount. The Standards in Education website explains what standards are and the importance of developing and using them. The site includes tutorial modules and case illustrations to introduce the history of standards, the basic terminology, their applications and impact on products, as well as news related to standards, book reviews and links to other sites that contain information on standards.


Students association organizes various technical events, workshops and competitions at intra and inter-collegiate level.

  • Pre BizzNext 2017 - IEEE VIT Student Branch organised it's pre-BizzNext talk on "The infatuation with Start-ups".The talk was conducted by Mr. Jim Beach. Not only did he warm the hearts of the audience but also their minds with his scintillating persona. The talk was a journey through his personal life from how he wanted to get into architecture school to becoming a successful business man who he is today. Owing to his reputation of a motivational speaker he inspired the students while giving them a taste of the real world and his endeavours, making it an enriching experience which was one of its kind.

  • BizzNext 2016 - New Horizons was organized on February 5 and 6, 2016. Eminent personalities Colonel Umakant Sharma, Lt. Col. Paramesh Sarma , Lt. Col. Sundaresan Ren, Mr. Koustubh Phalnikar – Larsen and Tourbo spoke on various topics. Mr. Sreeraman Thiagarajan spoke about the changing trend of technologies and the importance of having an online presence for a company. Mr. Gaurav Gandhi - TCS spoke about the initiatives taken by TCS to recruit quality engineers from colleges. Other personalities such as Mr. Amit Pandey, Mr. Sunil Ghadge, Dr. Rahul Mirchandani and Ms. Fatin Arifin talked about young entrepreneurs and their road to success.

  • Python Workshop - The Research and Development Head conducted Python workshop on October 3, 2015 and October 4, 2015 for the students. The students were taught algorithm development and basics of python along with modules of web crawler algorithm and local web crawlers.

  • Voyager 2015: A Stellar Genesis - Organised a seminar on Anomalous Red shifts by Padma Vibhushan Dr. Jayant Narlikar ( Indian astrophysicist famous for his Narlikar-Hoyle Theory) and Webinar by Mr.Zachary Fejes ( Team lead for Project Voyager with ICARUS Interstellar ).
  • Workshop on Artificial Intelligence

  • BIZZNEXT IEEE - A business and entrepreneur symposium on the account of entrepreneur day was conducted.

  • PCB Designing Workshop

  • IEEE-VIT provided an opportunity to get started with the world of embedded computers using a Raspberry Pi emulator running Raspbian OS based on Debian Linux.
