Internet and Wi-Fi
Digital revolution has defined the twenty first century and in a few short years, the digital realm has broken free from the static shackles of the desktop and is now never more than an arm’s reach away. The constraints of connectivity have dissolved in recent years, resulting in an ‘always on, always connected’ society.
Wi-fi provides a consistent, high quality connected experience, regardless of environmental factors. Wi-Fi setup for the entire Institute is controlled from the Data Center through firewall.
Wi-Fi setup has over 30 access points strategically located across the Campus for access to Internet services. WiFi is authentication driven and is with restrictions as per user level for maximum security.
Lost and Found
The Institute’s Lost and Found section is situated at F-202 to help students locate misplaced articles.
The Institute ensures that the drinking water facilities on the campus are maintained at regular intervals and with utmost care.
Drinking water supplied by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is available throughout the campus. All drinking water outlets and water coolers are fitted with top-notch water purifiers. All underground and overhead water tanks are cleaned by professional service-providers thrice a year using sophisticated equipment including UV equipment. Further, bottled water is also available at the food outlets on the campus.
Water is precious and hence water conservation is also taken care of. Recycled water is used for flushing in toilets and for landscaping and gardening requirements.
The Institute buildings are equipped with hygienically maintained and sparkling clean restrooms. Many of the restrooms have changing rooms also. There are separately designated restrooms for men and women among staff and students and one specially made for the physically challenged.
The Institute has a well-stocked souvenir cum stationery store which sells Institute souvenirs and all stationery items required by students for routine academic needs. It provides photocopying facility as well.
A home away from home, for the benefit of OHU students, Vidyalankar has a private hostel facility (lodging only) with limited seats at Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Those interested may contact the hostel premises on 022 27704165 for checking availability and facilities.
It is said that health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. The Institute has tied up with TOPSLINE Emergency Response Service for 24x7 medical support facilities. In case of an emergency, medical help is provided by TOPLINE ambulance consisting of a paramedic officer with essential lifesaving equipment. If necessary, the patient is taken to the municipal hospital (KEM Hospital, Parel) for further treatment.
First aid boxes are available at various locations at all over the campus.
The institute's grievance redressal mechanism is a structured one that provides a forum to students to be listened to so that any feeling of injustice is sorted out promptly. Proper investigation into the facts and figures related to the problem and swift redressal is ensured. Students are instructed and encouraged to follow hierarchy by getting in touch with their respective academic coordinators and academic advisors (mentors) in case of any grievances. They are reassured that the authorities will be acting impartially and will try to resolve the matter as amicably as possible.
