I hail from Basmath - a Taluka in the interior of Maharashtra. My father, who was a government officer and also a farmer, taught me the value of commitment and discipline. I was moved by his love for the land when every morning he used to visit our farm before proceeding to his office. I remember, whenever anyone visited our home, we had no place to offer them a seat as it was filled with sacks of grains and pulses. From these humble beginnings, I moved on to Nanded for my further education till M.Sc. Since my school days, Maths was my favourite subject, and I realized that the more I explored Maths, the more I was fascinated by it. In the course of my education, I was fortunate to have been mentored by some exceptionally good teachers who had an immense zeal for teaching. It was a proud moment for my family when I scored 100/100 in two papers in Maths in M.Sc. Part II - I attribute my success to the guidance from my inspiring teachers.

For me, teaching is not just a profession - it is a passion. I work with dedication for the students and Institute. I put myself in students' places and try to understand their expectations, and the best method to explain the concepts. Apart from teaching and mentoring, I look after IEDP (Intensive Education Development Program) which is additional academic support offered to students and Mission 100 (goal towards reaching 100% pass percentage in examination). I put in all possible efforts to help students perform well, prepare handwritten notes, video lectures, presentations, organize counseling sessions, remedial tutorials, doubt-solving sessions, and crash courses. My dream is to see 100% results in the First Year Engineering end semester examination. The smile on the student's face is very satisfying on the day the results are declared.

While I served as In-Charge of First Year Engineering a year before, and successfully nurtured creative ideas like vTutorial, Mission 100, Study Circle, Progression Batch, Students’ Facilities Kiosk, initiated “Ganitalankar Shodh” – a Maths Talent Search on the campus, and Preliminary Examinations for all subjects. Students’ response to these activities has been excellent. Many students scored 100% marks in Maths in the past few years. I have organized a Short Term Training Program on “Innovations and Applications of Engineering Mathematics” in which many eminent professors from IITB, TIFR have delivered sessions. I also have organized a tree plantation drive, and a seminar on “Secrets of Flying” by a senior pilot, and ATC official.

Other than the world of Maths, I am also interested in Hindustani Classical Music, Tabla, Yoga, Marathi poetry, Universal Human Values, Zero Budget Natural Farming, environmental awareness, trekking, and organizing cultural programs. I have organized and actively participated in cultural programs such as Marathi Vangmaya Mandal, poetry recitations, Hindi Divas, and compered on various occasions at CKT College as a Cultural Secretary. On one occasion, at an annual social gathering, Chief Guest Dr. S. N. Pathan, Director of Higher Education, Maharashtra appreciated my language proficiency.

Maths is an art as much as it is a science; it is a powerful tool, and Engineering is full of Maths. I love teaching Maths to Engineering students. To witness the power and beauty of Engineering, I suggest one must develop a passion for Maths and uncover its manifold secrets. I believe in the philosophy: “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
