I was born and brought up in the small town of Madhya Pradesh popularly known as Mahakal-ki-Nagri (Ujjain). Belonging to a small town and a business class joint family, ironically a career in the teaching profession in an Engineering college appeared to be far-fetched in my childhood days. After my SSC, I did spend some time in our family business along with studies. Nonetheless, my willpower and dedication to come out successful in entrance examination secured my place in one of the reputed Engineering colleges of Bhopal.

After my graduation in Information Technology, I cleared the GATE and got admitted into another prestigious Government College at Indore to pursue my post-graduation in Computer Engineering. On completion of my master’s in engineering, I joined as a faculty in an Engineering college in Gujarat and subsequent to that short tenure; I joined Vidyalankar Institute of Technology.

Along with the primary role of an Assistant Professor in the Computer Engineering Department, I am also successfully shouldering the role of project Co-coordinator. Much to my liking, this responsibility gave me a chance to interact with students and understand them more closely. Some additional responsibilities I have recently started getting involved are those of Internship coordinator and placement coordinator. I really enjoy these roles also as they allow me to guide students to work on their technical skills and help they grow in a wholesome manner before they enter to the professional world.

It was this journey of mine which made me understand Swami Vivekananda’s famous words “Education is not filling the mind with a lot of facts.
