My engineering teaching career started in 2011, at DJ Sanghvi college of Engineering, and I was amazed to see the difference in their psychology and variation in teaching strategies. But I am into teaching right from my 10th standard. Since I was a good student of Mathematics and Science, my school friend approached me and insisted me to teach Geometry. I accepted his requested and taught him with utmost depth. I was pleased to see my friend clearing the subject with distinction.

Later, along with my diploma studies, I used to take revision lectures of Mathematics and Science. It made me realize the challenges faced by teachers, which in turn increased my respect for my teachers, who had taken so much efforts in shaping my career. As the results were announced, all the students cleared their subjects with good grades. I felt over-whelmed to see the joy and satisfaction in the eyes of their parents. After this, I gained more confidence and thought of pursuing my career in teaching. Later over the years of my diploma and B-tech, I kept on teaching 10th Mathematics. Impressed by my technical depth and curiosity, my professor offered me to work in an Industrial project during my summer vacations. I accepted his offer and worked with him on the project. Design Techniques and Skills acquired during this period helped me a lot in teaching ‘Linear Integrated Circuits’ and taking it to the next level. It also helped me in guiding final year students in their projects.

I joined Vidyalankar Institute of Technology in 2014 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication. I have been associated with Vidyalankar for the last 6 years and have taught various subjects like Basic Electrical Engineering, Electronic Instrumentation, Control Systems, Linear Integrated circuits, Digital communication, Discrete Time signal Processing to name a few.

Recently, I have also started my YouTube channel named ‘Mayur sir’, where I upload various short videos for reference for my students. Currently I am working on development of ‘Guru Receiver’ for analyzing different signals from Jupiter planet. It will also kick start research on extra-terrestrial signals in our institute.

My aim is to bridge the gap between industry and academia to the minimum possible level.
