Teaching Experience: 14 Years

As quoted by Sidney J. Harris, “A good teacher must be slow enough that it is not confusing and fast enough that it is not boring”. As mind-boggling this message is, the career to be a successful teacher and inspire an entire generation is equally challenging. Teaching is one of the many jobs where one can experience challenges, connections, happiness, fear, highs and lows. It is a complete dish where you can experience all the wonderful flavours gushing through your palette. And I truly enjoy the different flavours and satisfaction that teaching gives me.

Growing up in Mumbai, I was fortunate to be educated in a reputed school right from kindergarten to SSC. The co-ed school taught me strong educational and ethical philosophies that will remain with me throughout my life. Being a person that I always am, I felt strong in confronting the various challenges in life. At school, I always enjoyed the challenges Mathematics posed and attained great joy in dealing with them while arriving at solutions. I was also aware of the various career options like Cryptography, Statistics, Computer Science that Mathematics opened doors to. I was always ecstatic to the various alternatives a single subject could be the link to. I have had the help of wonderful teachers who helped me patiently understand the subject which made me realize the right techniques to teach the budding minds about the patience one needed to understand Mathematics and not to fear it.

It was in the year 2007 when I topped my post-graduation in Mathematics from the Institute of Science. Additionally, I also earned a Bachelors in Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Research from the University of Mumbai. Along with this foundation and continued support from family and friends, I embraced teaching as a career. I have always tried to bring a unique value to the classroom, as well as provide fresh insights. Beyond the subject that is being taught, the experiences I’ve been through allow me to adapt to the content of the course and give it a personal touch, aiming for more.

I firmly believe that we need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging. Because when students are engaged and they are interested, that's where real learning takes place. I am constantly trying my best to achieve more in the field of education and look forward too many more years of teaching.
