Teaching Experience: 5 Years

Since my childhood days, I had harbored the beautiful dream of becoming a teacher. Reminiscing my school days, I always use to admire my science teacher, how every difficult concept was explained with ease by giving perfect examples. She was a motivation for me, for the queries raised in the class she used to answer all with utmost clarity. I was inspired to be like her. Biology was my favourite subject since the beginning and wanted to make a career into it. Teaching was always on my mind and I wanted to be a teacher and influence student’s life. During my growth years, I always wondered how the big instruments in hospitals worked or what the technology behind it was. It gave rise to many questions in my mind. I started reading about it and developed keen interest in engineering and the innovations in the field of biomedical engineering. The lifesaving and supporting instruments kept influencing me. So, to nurture both the interests, I zeroed in to take up graduation in technical field. I took up the undergraduate course in biomedical engineering which gave me the insights of engineering and how it helped the humanity in a better way. Connection of a medical field to the engineering and helping the doctors for improvement of mankind by engineering ways kept me motivated. Over my four years of engineering in VIT, I have enriched my experiences academically, professionally, and personally. After my graduation, to upgrade my knowledge of engineering skills, I worked in L. H. Hiranandani hospital, Powai as a biomedical engineer though the love for teaching kept coming back to me. To guard my passion, I decided to return to academics. I completed my Masters in Instrumentation engineering with biomedical instrumentation as a specialization from Mumbai University and took up teaching. I joined Vidyalankar as a full-time faculty.

I feel like I have this special bond with VIT. Studying here, being the Alumnus of this Institute, makes me proud and happy that I can return to the society the maximum what I have acquired during my engineering days. Teaching has always been a passion to me. Teaching the students, interacting with them, solving their doubts, learning with them, working on different projects is what I always wanted to do. I teach core engineering subjects like Analog/Electronic Devices and Circuits, Analog Communication and Biomedical Instrumentation. I like to work in Instrumentation and devices, IoT and embedded systems and medical technology with students. Along with teaching I also like reading novels, to travel and explore different places which are close to nature, and to watch movies.

I feel the essence of accomplishment and motivation for an enriching life at VIT as an ever growing teacher.
