I take this ennobled opportunity to express myself and my experience that motivates me to be in the teaching field. When I recall my childhood as a small 7-year-old girl, the past instances when I took a piece of chalk to teach students still remains fresh in my forlorn memories. This was the point of reckoning for me as I realized my own interest in teaching. I was born and brought in a family with little financial means to earn the daily livelihood, but what I learned despite all these odds are the true qualities of a person that I can brag upon today.
In academics, I used to top all exams in my class from the first standard till my engineering graduation. The only one goal in my mind was not merely to learn, but also light the lamp of knowledge in the society. The real motivation for my excellent results in academics is my family who has constantly supported me in all my endeavors. I was fortunate to bag various prestigious awards like ‘Mahindra & Mahindra all India Talent Scholarship-2003’ across Maharashtra, Late Rtn. PP Gopal J. Karandikar- Achievement Award-2001 and 2003 by Rotary Club in Mumbai and the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Yuvaratn Puraskar-2006’. I also maintained a continual interest in extracurricular activities like singing, dramatics, dancing and building project ideas from real world problem statements during my college days. Another instrumental milestone to add to my repertoire of nostalgia is when I had nominee of ‘Rashtrapathi ke Saath Contest’ with our Late President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in the year 2003 and the words still resound in my ears till today when he said: ‘The sweat burns from the body will raise your value of life one day’. These words always boost me to work with right spirit and energy.
During my pursuance of Bachelors in Computer Engineering field, I was happy to get a job in the reputed ‘National Stock Exchange’ in the year 2009. Though my happiness knew no bounds in terms of money, I know there was a trade-off int the offing between money and work solely because of the lure of the teaching profession.
My mind and my fate eventually pulled me to the teaching domain in the year 2011, when I joined ‘Vidyalankar Institute of Technology’. VIT was a door open to for exploring newer possibilities in a world of young minds which made me firm my thoughts and take the pledge to teach and learn in the ever-growing world of knowledge. My overall professional career flourished at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, thanks to our honorable Director, Shri Milind Tadvalkar who have been a source of constant motivation for faculty members by his unforgettable words of being a good teacher by becoming a good learner.
I constantly motivate students to work on real-life problems and provide solutions in the form of projects or mini projects. I also believe on maintaining a strong industry connect, because of which I inspire my students to work on Industry projects and arranged technical workshop, training programs, internal hackathon completions too. I taught subjects like Web Technology, Software Engineering, Object Oriented Programming Methodology, Software Project Management, Data ware Housing & Mining etc. in my overall teaching career. Along with teaching, I also try to nurture my technical skills and utilize the same to build real time systems like the website of our very own college.
I have also gained very good experience while building prototypes of software systems in national competitions like ‘Smart India Hackathon (SIH)’ and I am happy to share that, I was mentor of winning team of SIH-2019 and one of my teams also got nominated in SIH-2020. I have nurtured my technical, team building and motivation skills during SIH competition and tried to become a successful guide for the same.
Apart from academics, Singing, Music, Dancing, Poetry and literature are some of the hobbies I enjoy singing during my leisure time. I like to spend my weekends with family discussing their problems while trying my best to come up with solutions of a mutual satisfaction. While, I consider sincerity and honesty to be the fundamental principles of my life, the secret of success in my life is the drive that arises from the words - ‘Smart work along with the Hard work’ makes our life successful.
Lastly, I would like to inspire my students with the quote “Strive for progress, not perfection”., Work on your technical skill, interpersonal skill, adopt latest technology and showcase your knowledge with right spirit.
