In the early years of my career I served the Indian Army as a Captain for five years and have been into highly active areas of Jammu & Kashmir where I fought militancy in the areas of Rajouri & Poonch Sectors and carried out flawless operations in counter insurgency ops with zero casualties. I learnt attributes of strategy, people management, stress management and leadership skills in a combat situation. The experiential learnings through operations and a course like Commando Training built a never say die attitude in me. I have featured as a Brand Ambassador for the Indian Army in inspirational and motivational advertisements on television to motivate the young generation to join the Short Service Commission for the Indian Army. Post my Army stint, I served in the corporate sector (Human Resource function) for 12 years in the domains of Retail, Cash & Carry, Healthcare & Logistics (Pantaloons Retails Ltd, Aditya Birla Retail Ltd, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, AP Moller Terminals, Metro Cash & Carry India Pvt Ltd). The last assignment which I handled was with Marks & Spencer Reliance Ltd as Head of Talent Acquisition and HR Operations Head. I had the opportunity to handle different functions like HR Ops, Talent Acquisition, IR & Administration. I am also qualified in Strategic HR, Budgeting, Staffing & HR Analytics, Employee Relations & Statutory Compliances. I am equipped with skillsets like Thomas Profiling, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16 PF).

In my career I have been fortunate enough to accomplish various initiatives in different geographies across India with different levels of responsibilities. I have a detailed understanding of Indian businesses, politics, bureaucracy, corporate network, culture and geography to execute all levels of staffing from mass till niche level. This has equipped me to successfully launch many retail stores, distribution centers, hypermarkets and supermarkets across the nation. I have successfully managed Industrial Relations issues by adeptly managing three Unions in Western India. I have been part of Crises Management Team (CMT) handling security and loss prevention issues for various organizations. I have also played a pivotal role in getting JCI & NABH accreditation for Fortis Hospital at Vashi and Mulund.

Post my career stint in the Human Resources Management, I have forayed into the education sector to pursue my passion towards education as it is the most important base of nation building. Apart from academics, I own responsibility for Placements, Corporate Networking and Discipline for the Department. I also help the Management Student Council for organizing campus related events.

As a part of my hobbies I have always been inclined towards fitness and tree plantation. I have been a certified NCC cadet having (B&C) certification, a gold medalist in Boxing (lightweight) at Officers Training Academy, Chennai. I have planted 10,000 trees in a tree plantation program in Jaipur. I like working in teams and leading by example. I like building and leading teams to support high growth. I have strong troubleshooting and networking skills; my potential lies in driving change and acting as a crucial change agent. I am deeply inspired by the former President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam for his inherent simplicity, immense knowledge and humble, down to earth nature. I’m an optimist and I truly believe in the saying, “The darkest hour is just before dawn.”
