To give you all a glimpse of my journey of becoming a teacher, I was born in a family of farmers and that too, in a region with scarcity of water because of which even farming was not an easy task. Though my childhood was filled with challenges, I considered them as opportunities. I started working in someone else’s field alongside my studies. I was also helping my family to meet financial needs.

To describe my childhood hobbies, I was always interested in games like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and wrestling. I was very happy when I secured the first place in Kho-Kho at the district level. I enjoyed participating in local wrestling competitions. The only way I could take a break from my studies and field work was through these games.

The only glimmer of hope, with which I am continuing my profession even today, is because of my Mathematics Professor S. K. Dubule Sir, who did his job excellently and kept on motivating me to perform well and be optimistic in life by taking every challenge positively. With such enthusiasm and vigor, I was successful in achieving second rank in the Department of Mathematics at the Shivaji University, Kolhapur. This was when I had already proved myself with a clear vision about my further studies woven along with three elements namely, hard work, smart work and honesty. After completing my M.Sc., I chose to keep myself updated and pass on the hard-gained knowledge of Mathematics to others and I was selected to become a Teacher.

All these years the main objective that I endeavored was to ensure that my students understand the depth of this subject with clarity. In tune with VIT’s motto of “Students First”, I have always ensured that I give more than 100% to make my students learn what is being conveyed and will continue to do so.

I try to be up-to-date with my technological skills, and in recent times, I have learnt to reach out to students through lectures via video conferencing, e-assignments, and online quizzes. This ease of access has strengthened the teaching mechanism and has facilitated clarification of their doubts. The one thing that makes me satisfied of my work is to look at budding engineers grow and achieve greater heights in their career.
