Passionate about sports since childhood, throughout my educational career I stood out as a sportsman and participated in various athletic events. Having donned the title of college captain in swimming, I also participated in many inter-collegiate swimming competitions. During my tenure as a Management student I was elected as Student Secretary of Symbiosis International Cultural Centre, Pune. Looking back, I certainly feel that my professional education at Symbiosis has helped to polish my leadership skills and gave me an opportunity to reinvent myself.

I did a short stint as a Personnel Officer with major corporate houses such as TATA Pharma Ltd, Garware Wall Ropes Ltd. and Essar Steel Ltd. At Essar Steel I was responsible for the recruitment of junior level staff during the inception of their steel plant at Hazira, Gujarat. I also represented Essar Steel in the inter-corporate cricket tournament and received coaching from the ace cricketer Ashok Mankad.

Subsequently my entrepreneurial instincts led me to start my own venture. I established manufacturing units which conformed to ISI quality standards, and started manufacturing electrical switchgears and cables and supplied those to Government organisations.

The sportsman spirit in me enthuses me to take up new challenges. I have always believed that being with young students is always energizing. One feels younger in the company of enthusiastic young minds and their fresh ideas. With this zeal, I got associated with Welingkar Management Institute as an expert member for group discussions and selection of students.

I joined Vidyalankar with a vision to impart my practical knowledge, and share my expertise and experience for the benefit of students. As Head-Corporate Affairs I am entrusted with multiple responsibilities which require multitasking, a trait which I had acquired as an entrepreneur. My attributes of leading a team as a captain who keeps his team members motivated, resolves conflicts and establishes good communication within the team, coincide with the requisite qualities of an efficient manager. I have handled various projects which benefit students in many ways. My team has delivered projects on automated Lecture Capture, Den – a state of the art recreational centre for students, landscaping and many more, which are really appreciated by students and give the Vidyalankar campus a student-friendly vibe.

Project management is my forte and I have been offering internship guidance to students in every aspect of project handling. It gives me immense pleasure when I see projects actually take shape and gain popularity among students and staff. It is rightly said that “Entrepreneurs are catalysts for economic change”. I like to mentor my students not merely to be managers, but to evolve as managers of their own ventures.
