Having grown up in a small town, Varanasi, where the facilities for education were limited then, I always dreamt of fulfilling my passion for education. Getting a good education was always on my mind since school days. I didn’t know then that soon I will get an opportunity to start pursuing my dream. I came to Mumbai after completing HSC and enrolled for B. Com. from SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce. I then went on to acquire Masters in Management Studies (HR) from Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, affiliated to University of Mumbai.
During my stint as a student at Vidyalankar, I worked passionately towards various activities that the Institute organized, and thereafter I got an opportunity to work with my alma mater since 2009. Being an alumna of the Institute, I always shared an amazing connect with my students. Soon I developed a passion for the teaching profession which led me continue with this career, which is rather unconventional after having pursued a professional course like MMS. Having more than a decade of experience in teaching, my pedgogy spans MMS, Executive MBA, Engineering and BMS courses. My subjects include Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, T & D, PMS, Strategic HRM, Business Research Methods, Human Skills to name a few. I strive to teach using contemporary cases and I also got myself trained on teaching Harvard Business cases. I have also undergone training on teaching excellence, level 1 and 2 from the faculty of University of Illinois.
My background of HR & OB enables me to conduct soft skills training on various modules for teaching and administrative staff of Vidyalankar. Apart from that I also handled a range of administrative responsibilities, such as In-charge, Summer Internship and In-charge, Final Year Projects, and the latest being In-charge Placements for MMS Students at VIT.
With a passion for continuous learning, I enrolled for integrated M.Phil-Ph.D at one of the prestigious Institutes, Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 2016 and completed my M.Phil. in 2018 in the area of Leadership. Since then I have been involved actively in research and published papers in national and international conferences including IIM Indore, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Trichy, Nirma University etc. I have also been a reviewer and a session chair of the Leadership track in conferences held at TISS and IIM Trichy. My Ph.D. work is into exploring the role of Organizational Humor and leadership effectiveness.
I am very passionate about giving back to the society, whatever I have learnt in my professional life. I assist Doctors at the Child Palliative/Oncology Dept. at the Tata Memorial Centre, Parel in conceptualizing and analysing their research on juvenile cancer patients and parents of children who are placed under palliative care.
