Overview

Higher studies committee is to encourage, guide, and prepare students for advanced academic pursuits (MS/MBA/MTech) and specialized professional development beyond their undergraduate degree. 

Higher studies committee organizes various activities by eminent speakers  to prepare students for MS/MBA/MTech. 

To develop a clear understanding of effective preparation strategies for major entrance examinations, build a compelling and competitive personal profile, and gain insight into the selection processes of leading U.S. universities to enhance the chances of successful admission. 

To provide clear guidance about UPSC, MPSC, and other government competitive examinations. 

To create awareness about career opportunities after passing GATE Examination. 

Events was organized to make students aware of the complete process of pursuing a master’s degree abroad. It provided insights on career options after graduation, university selection, profile building, application procedures, timelines, and financial aspects like costs, scholarships, and loans.

Goal

In today’s competitive academic environment, structured higher studies guidance helps students achieve academic growth and secure admissions to top national and international universities.

It includes a strategic framework to:

• Define higher studies targets
• Identify top universities for admissions
• Improve student readiness for premier institutions
• Guide students about TA/RA opportunities and LORs
• Encourage research publications and portfolio building
• Organize orientation sessions and alumni interactions for higher studies guidance

Activities

  1. Guidance session on UPSC ,MPSC and other government competitive exams–The Higher Studies Committee organized a guidance session on UPSC, MPSC, and other government competitive exams to create awareness about civil service careers. The session covered exam patterns, syllabus, preparation strategies, eligibility criteria, and study resources while motivating students to pursue administrative careers.

  2.  Webinar on “From Vidyalankar to Microsoft: A USC Viterbi Alumnus Shares His MS Journey”– to provide students with insights into pursuing MS abroad. The session covered GRE/TOEFL preparation, university applications, student life abroad, financial planning, and career opportunities in the tech industry.

  3. Webinar on “Launch Your Global Career: Planning and Pursuing an MS Abroad”-To develop a clear understanding of effective preparation strategies for major entrance examinations, build a compelling and competitive personal profile, and gain insight into the selection processes of leading U.S. universities to enhance the chances of successful admission.

  4. Webinar on “Getting Masters Abroad Simplified”–The event is organized to make students aware of the complete process of pursuing a master’s degree abroad. It will provide insights on career options after graduation, university selection, profile building, application procedures, timelines, and financial aspects like costs, scholarships, and loans. 

  5. Event on “How to Plan Higher Studies in Luxembourg University”-An event on “How to Plan Higher Studies in Luxembourg University” was conducted to create awareness about higher education opportunities in Europe. The session provided insights into admission procedures, academic life, career prospects, and the journey from engineering to pursuing a master’s degree in Europe.
