Institute Innovation Council


Vision

The Vision of the VIT Institute Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Cell is to work towards the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem by enabling generation of IPR, interaction between students and- faculty members, working professionals, aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, venture capital firms and corporates, through initiatives like projects, workshops, interactive sessions, competitions, conferences etc.

The responsibilities of IIC members

  1. To organize various training programs, technical competitions and business competitions for student and faculty members.
  2. To help student and faculty members for commercialising their projects.
  3. To get start-ups funding.
  4. To provide infrastructural facilities (office / labs etc.) for developing entrepreneurs.
  5. To tie up with other Entrepreneur Training Institutes.
  6. To collaborate with other incubation centres of state, national and international level.
  7. To provide a single window solution for setting up start-up.

IIC -Council Members



Dr Saurabh Mehta -VIT IIC-Sponsor



Dr. Saurabh Mehta is the Chief Academic Officer at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology and a Professor at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Armed with an MS and Ph.D. in Wireless Networks which he pursued from South Korea, he gained rich industrial and research experience through consultancy projects at key MNCs. He has several product developments and IPRs under his credit.

Asst Prof Nilesh -VIT IIC-Council Head



Nilesh is an Assistant Professor at VIT’s Dept of Management Studies. He is a pharmacy graduate and has post graduate specialisation in marketing. He brings to IIC more than 17 years of corporate work experience in MNCs and Indian companies, including experience of research, product development, commercialisation and award in innovation, 4 years of entrepreneurial experience and more than 5 years of teaching experience. He enjoys tinkering and problem solving.

Asst Prof Pratik Mhatre -VIT IIC- Council member


Pratik is an Assistant Professor at VIT’s Dept of Electronics and Telecommunication department. He has more than 20 years of corporate and education field experience. RF engineering was his focus in post graduate studies. He has delivered 50+ sessions in PCB Designing in various institutes of Mumbai and Pune university. He has completed Skill India Certification as a PCB Design Analyst under Electronic Sector Skill Council of India and developed and is in charge of PCB incubation center of excellence. He has interest in Software’s such as Altium , Dip trac. He has developed products such as LED Light Dimmer circuits,· Automatic hand sanitizers and Arduino Shields. He has offered consultancy in IoT & Wireless Communication to the industry and completed project on Optical Repeaters of Mahindra naval defense system. He has written numerous papers and filed for patents in non Invasive Blood Glucose Measurement using Microwave sensors and on Automatic hand Dispenser Circuit.

Asst Prof Samuel Jacob -VIT IIC- Council member




Samuel is an Assistant Professor at VIT’s Dept of Information Technology. Samuel has 8 years of industrial experience and more than 13 years of teaching experience. His interest areas are Embedded Systems, Virtual Reality, IoT, Robotics, Automation, and Entrepreneurship.

External Consultant- Dr Anil Mehta




Dr Anil Mehta is an innovation and entrepreneurship consultant. He is a member of Rapid SOS, Illinois University, Carbondale, Hawaii. He has worked in innovation lab at Chicago Univ, USA. He has numerous start ups to his credit and is passionate about kindling innovation and entrepreneurship in India He conducts innovation workshops for VIT students. He is also heading Vidyalankar's innovation initiative :- "MISSION UNICORN"
