In the urban landscape of Mumbai, I was born and brought up by my mother who single handedly educated me against all odds. This instilled deep values of discipline and dedication in me right from my childhood. I owe my interests in subjects like Mathematics, Physics and engineering to my revered teachers I met at different stages of my life, who also made me understand the dignity of the teaching profession.

I often recall a very common saying - ‘Teaching cannot be Taught’. Truly so, the gift of teaching is bestowed on me. I have taught many different subjects in my teaching career. The first subject I taught was Internet Communication. With the growing advent and exponentially increasing use of e-learning and e-resources, I am certain that the need of cyber security engineers in inevitable. So I continuously encourage my students to take up certification courses in net security and ethical hacking. The need of a cyber army will create requirements of skilled security professionals.

I strongly believe that the engineers of today are the future of a bright India tomorrow. So we must work hard to fortify our roots to reap a healthy fruit. Here, my responsibility as a teacher, mentor and guide becomes important as ultimately our endeavors should try to bridge the gap between industry and academics. We, at Vidyalankar, consciously work together as a team to mitigate this gap by inviting eminent industry experts and TedX speakers. I always ensure that students get ample industry exposure and enthusiastically participate in Industrial visits with them. Visits to VSNL-Prabhadevi, Reliance JIO-Ghansoli, Tata Earth Station at Arvi, Pune, Doordarshan- Worli, Asia’s largest Railway workshop Unit-Matunga to name a few.

I have been actively involved with various technical Society activities over the past many years. I served as the IEEE Convener at VIT and we successfully conducted various workshops, seminars and technical events on diverse topics like Blockchain Technologies, Data analytics and machine learning. Currently, I am the Convener of our Electronics Engineering Society, EESA and Co-Convener of the Technical Council of the college. Here, we innovate and inculcate the latest technological advancements to garner maximum participation of our students and faculty from similar and allied disciplines. This, I believe, can bring about the overall development of my students.

Society Before Self, is the motto which involved me in our college NSS activities also. Here, we have beach cleaning drives, plastic ban awareness campaigns and street plays organized from time to time. It is also my endeavor to continuously learn and evolve both as a teacher and a seeker of knowledge. I believe in life-long learning. The mantra for my students is to identify a specific skill in our self and put our best foot forward to unlock this inborn talent. In doing so, our discipline and adaptability will transform our talent into our ability.
