Nilesh Deshpande

Assistant Professor Nilesh is an experienced educator who brings to the teaching table a rich and diverse background spanning over 25 years, encompassing roles in marketing, sales and entrepreneurship. He is interested in innovation, healthcare and marketing. He has completed his graduation in Pharmacy (B Pharm) and has master’s in marketing specialisation (MMS-Marketing). At VIT, he spearheaded the successful implementation of the food and garden waste composting initiative, demonstrating his commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious practices. He also started and teaches General Management courses such as Waste Management, Business Simulation and Design Thinking. At VIT he lead the formation of various student technical clubs along with likeminded faculty colleagues. He also set up the Institute Innovation Council and the VIT Green Club. Currently he is pursuing PhD in healthcare area. His last corporate assignment was with Dr Reddy’s Labs, Hyderabad as Associate Director in the role of head of marketing for OTC division. Previous assignments were in MNCs and Indian organisations in various sales and marketing positions. Width of assignments ranged from turning around brands, setting up marketing function to handling heritage brands.
