Electronics and Telecommunication engineering is the most sophisticated, demanding and largest branch of engineering. It has diverse application areas that have affected our daily life in various ways.

The world is anticipating a new millennium, which is going to be the wireless telecommunication age. Therefore new areas of research in material sciences, optics, MEMS, NEMS, together will contribute to a new revolution in replacing the present state of art devices and systems.

Mission

  • Evolve a curriculum which emphasizes on strong engineering fundamentals with the flexibility to choose advanced courses of interest and gain exposure to tools and techniques in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering.
  • Encourage a teaching-learning process in which highly competent faculty share a symbiotic association with the institutes of repute.

Message

I have been entrusted to serve as the Head of the Electronics and Telecommunication department and I am eagerly looking forward to serve students to my best ability and capability. One of my major initiatives is to bridge the connection between academia and industry. I look forward to work with my staff, students, alumni, organizations and friends to ensure that the right connection is established and our main vision is accomplished. At the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication, we thrive to ensure the Excellence of every student in Academics as well as extracurricular activities. Department of Electronics and Telecommunication has always believed in the concept of making a Difference, be it either in the form of organizing technical events to help the students gain technical expertise or cultural events to bring out the hidden talents of students. Each new academic year begins with a new atmosphere, energetic mission, good values, and exuberance.

The Microprocessor and Microcontroller laboratory focuses on embedded systems development applications with modern tools, practices and skills.

  • Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering published its first digital newsletter.
  • Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering has successfully organized a series of workshops like ICT, MATLAB and Simulation and Faculty Development Programs on Maplesoft for faculty members and students across Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. The response for all the workshops was extremely good.
  • You Tube channel internships in progress. You Tube videos of EXTC students demonstrating live experiments related to academic  subjects can be viewed on the following link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIped9GNfKw
  • Started scientist’s gallery to inspire students.
  • The department conducted workshops on hardware and software for the students. A panel discussion was conducted on industry academia- collaboration too.
  • Industrial visits were arranged for students as well as faculty members.
  • Talk on new technology-Gadget Guru Seminar which highlighted the application of Quantum computers and also the Sony headed mounted display was piloted for the students.
  • An MOU with industry such as Tejas Network and Eduvance Technologies Pvt Ltd was signed by the institute which was initiated by the department.
  • Department students' Project group won first prize in Project Competition organised by Terna college of Engineering for the project titled "Voice recognition system" in March 2017.
