Assistant Professor
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
I learned many practical lessons from my father while he used to take a sample of cotton and stretch it, to carry out cotton grading. I used to ask my father; how you can do this so precisely, and he always answered me, by technique and practice. I understood the importance of discipline from our school Headmaster. I completed my SSC and HSC in the company of very good friends, from the Government aided school and junior college at Yavatmal, Maharashtra.
It was during the discussion of live cricket matches with my friends, that I was always forced to think about how we can see live matches at our home from thousands of kilometers. I was also curious to know, how airplanes can fly in air or ship floats and run on water. As explained by my teachers, the answer was ‘Technology’. Then I understood that these technologies can be learned through engineering, which made me pursue engineering.
After engineering, I joined as a Trainee R & D engineer at Pune and became part of 12 channel data logger development team. That was my first chance of implementing my favorite subject a microprocessor (Z80). Later, I shifted my focus to academics and joined as a Lecturer at Radio Electric Institute (REI), Lamington road Mumbai. Here, I got a chance to teach my favorite subject namely, Digital electronics and a microprocessor. Here I witnessed the development of a microprocessor-based LED Rolling display, Height-Weight proportion indicator on a microprocessor kit for commercial purposes and prize-winning project- character message display on an analogue oscilloscope.
After joining VIT in 2009, I was admitted to for masters and completed ME in Electronics engineering. I have taught many different subjects in my career such as an analogue and Digital ICs, Digital Electronics, Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, Operating systems, Optical fiber communication and so on.
Being the Convener of ISTE committee with support from our Management, we started ISTE Student’s Chapter with Life Membership for VIT. Every year student committee members conduct various activities like membership drive, seminars, technical workshops, technical quizzes and competitions, talks on project report writing and technical paper writing and much more. As the Convener of Student Technical Council, I always encourage students to think differently, plan innovative ideas and enrich the council performance. In this regard, our Management is always ready to provide all kinds of instant support; about quality planning, execution, and also post execution of such activities.
