For me, teaching extends far beyond delivering lectures; it is about shaping perspectives, nurturing curiosity, and connecting knowledge with real-world impact. Throughout my academic journey, I have continuously evolved as an educator, researcher, and practitioner, striving to create a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, innovation, and ethical responsibility.
My academic background is uniquely interdisciplinary. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering along with M.E in Information Technology and a B.E in Computer Science and Engineering. Complementing my technical expertise, I have pursued LL.B. from the University of Mumbai, a Diploma in Cyber Law, and a degree in Human Psychology. This combination allows me to approach cybersecurity and digital forensics not just as technical domains, but as areas deeply connected with human behavior and legal frameworks.
In the classroom, my focus is on bridging theory with practice. I strongly emphasize application-oriented learning through case-based discussions, investigative approaches, and problem-solving techniques. Subjects such as Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, and Cyber Law are taught with real-world context, enabling students to understand both the technical depth and societal relevance of these fields.
In addition to my academic responsibilities, I have been extensively involved in consultancy and the development of technology-driven solutions for law enforcement agencies. My work includes designing and implementing scalable digital systems, including AI-based applications, to enhance policing and public service delivery. Among my key contributions is the conceptualization and design of e-pass solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the development of MIS application for police training schools and Maharashtra Police Academy. I have also been entrusted with important advisory roles, serving as a Technical Expert for the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society, Government of Maharashtra where I provide guidance on technical initiatives. Additionally, I have served as a Technical Expert on the Committee for Technical Evaluation of EOI and ERP at the Maharashtra National Law University, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
My active engagement in digital forensic investigations has enabled me to support agencies such as Navi Mumbai Police, Mumbai Police, Thane Police, and Palghar Police in handling complex and high-impact criminal cases. These real-world experiences have deeply influenced my teaching approach, allowing me to integrate practical investigative techniques, case-based learning, and field insights into academic discussions. In recognition of my contributions to cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, I have been honored by the Indian Navy with the Shield of Honour, felicitated with a Manpatra by the Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai, and awarded the prestigious Yashwant Sanman Puraskar by the Home Minister of Maharashtra. I have also contributed to public awareness by appearing on various television talk shows, where I have shared insights on topics such as cyber security, online gaming risks including the Blue Whale Game, and employment opportunities in the digital domain..
Beyond academics and research, I bring over 20+ years of rich experience as a Training and Placement Officer, where I have played a pivotal role in shaping students’ careers. Over the years, I have successfully guided and supported 15,000+ students in securing employment opportunities across diverse industries. I have organized and conducted numerous job fairs, creating strong industry-academia connections and opening large-scale employment avenues for students.
I actively mentor students in CV building, interview preparation, and career readiness, ensuring they are not only technically sound but also professionally confident. My sustained efforts in enhancing placement outcomes and employability have been recognized by reputed organizations, and I have been honored with Best TPO Awards for my outstanding contribution to the growth of placements across Maharashtra.
My research interests revolve around Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, and secure digital ecosystems. I have authored over 50 research publications in reputed international journals and have also written two books focused on Secure e-commerce systems and cyber hygiene. Additionally, I hold a granted patent in secure credit card mechanisms, reflecting my commitment to developing practical and impactful technological solutions.
I have also contributed extensively to training and professional development, conducting numerous programs for senior police officials at institutions such as the Maharashtra Police Academy and Centre for Police Research, Pune. Through these engagements, I aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and field-level implementation.
Being part of Vidyalankar Institute of Technology provides an inspiring academic ecosystem that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth. It motivates me to further strengthen my role as an educator and mentor while contributing to the advancement of cybersecurity education and research.
Beyond my professional commitments, I enjoy engaging in discussions on emerging technologies, mentoring young minds, and contributing to public awareness on cyber safety. I strongly believe that learning is a lifelong process, and this belief continues to guide my journey.
