Dr Rugved V Deolekar

I started my teaching journey in 2004. After teaching for 5 years in some reputed colleges of Mumbai University, I joined Vidyalankar Institute of Technology and worked for almost 12 years.

During this I started teaching various core subjects like C Programming, C++ Programming, Java Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms. I completed my ME in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai and enrolled for Ph.D.

I also worked as Convenor of Cultural Council where I got a chance to guide students in organizing various cultural activities and events. I actively participated in NBA activities of my department and was also appointed as UG Program Coordinator of Department of Computer Engineering. Later I got a chance to switch to IT Industry. I worked as Manager, HR and L&D in one IT company almost for 5 years. I have completed my Ph.D. during this in ML and DL domain. In March 2026, I rejoined Vidyalankar Institute of Technology as Associate Professor in Department of Information Technology. I am working towards upskilling students and preparing them for placements.

My hobbies include reading, traveling, cooking and driving. I enjoy listening to music and also watching some good web-series.

As a teacher, we are not only responsible for teaching learning process but also to foster discipline in students which will help them in their overall development.
