Dr. Sangeeta Joshi, Principal at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai, is an accomplished academician and engineering professional with over 35 years of teaching experience and 13 years of administrative expertise at the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai. She is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science. Under her able leadership as the Institute Coordinator of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the Institute was conferred with an A+ Grade in its very first cycle of accreditation. As the Director, IQAC and Technical Advisor at the Institute, she designed and deployed a host of innovative academic and administrative quality enhancement measures such as Academic Review Process, Performance Appraisal system for engineering faculty and student satisfaction surveys.
Dr. Sangeeta Joshi’s distinguished career includes pivotal roles such as Principal of Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Engineering, Officer on Special Duty and Head of Quality Assurance Cell, under World Bank-assisted Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) at the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. She has made substantial contributions to state-level educational projects and has successfully contributed towards professional courses’ admission work at DTE.
Dr. Joshi has organized around 30+ international and national conferences/symposiums/STTPS/FDPs/workshops. A prolific researcher, she has published 121 papers and holds an Australian patent in wireless network technology, and five of her papers presented in conferences received the best paper awards. On the academic front, she has been awarded a Ph.D. (Microelectronics) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, with prior degrees in Instrumentation Engineering where she excelled as a topper. She is a recognized Ph.D. guide and has guided numerous students on their research journeys.
Recognized with numerous awards, including University of Mumbai’s “Best Teacher Award” for AY 2019-20, the Indian Society of Technical Education’s (ISTE) “Best Engineering College Teacher Award for Maharashtra State” for the year 2022, the “Best Faculty of the Year – Innovative Application of Technology Tools in Teaching/Learning” at Computer Society of India – TechNext India 2024 Academia Awards, and the Institution of Engineers BLC-FCRIT Excellence Award for the recognition of Academic Excellence in Faculty (Regional) category (State level) for the year 2021, Dr. Joshi continues to inspire through her dedication to quality education, student development, and institutional growth.
